An amazing Wharf Rat can be found at Boston Garden 5-7-77.

I believe there's a decent audience DL available here on the archive. Excelent Wharf Rat.

For comes a time, you've already been directed to the right place at euroudead.net. 5-9-77 is the best i've ever heard.

That whole show (12/31/87) is amazing.

Has one of the most overlooked (and I think really the best) IKO's ever--played w/the Neville Brothers, so not surprising it's that good. Faster and tighter than most other versions, plus Jerry sings a verse ('Indian boy gonna go downtown, iko iko all day, and if you don't like what the Big Chief say, you just joca-mo-fee-nannay!) that he rarely did...

same show also contains a sick Terrapin that ends in a frenzy of grit-hard Garcia guitar--kinda sounds like Jerry channeling Neil Young while the rest of the band turns into Crazy Horse...really great stuff; fantastic show.

don't know if it has been mentioned but a very nice Comes A time from Worcester april 87. Not only beautiful but goes right into Willie and the hand jive which is very rare.

Also try Buffalo may 77 for a glorious version of this tune

I can't recall seeing these two ballads on the same show----but my favorite Comes A Time is from 5/4/77 and I think the Wharf Rat that leads off the second set from 12/2/73 (DP 14) is excellent.

I like earlier Comes a Time's better for some reason. 11.7.71 and the one from Hundred Year Hall are two I suggest checking out.

I like early ones, too, especially the “Rockin’ on the Rhein” Vault CD. WR concludes that DS for the ages (40 minutes with an Uncle in between.... )> Wharf Rat (sweet and spacey).

Comes a Time - 5-12-77(Audit Theater) Terrapin>Playin>Drumz>NFA>Comes a Time*>Playin Reprise

Great emotion and playin - also in a unique place in the set - the ending closeout jam is great and flows way longer than usual. I always loved this one and I love comes a time.

"Comes a Time" was always way too rare for my liking; what a piece of music! For a good post-Brent (with Hornsby) version check out 6/25/91. I'm a bit bias 'cause I was there, but it's beautiful. The thing came out of Space (!?), I heard it coming a mile away but I wouldn't let myself believe it until it had arrived...One of my favorite GD memories.

Oh, and I've always been partial to the "Wharf Rat" on Skullfuck.

Comes a Time: Buffalo (1977-05-09) ..post-Keith - there is sweet "Playin' - Comes a Time" from the Worcester Centrum sometime in the 1980's but unfortunately I can't find it

Whart Rat: Binghampton (1977-11-06) ..wildest version I've ever heard (start with "St. Stephen" and listen through to the end of "Truckin'")

Check out the original handwritten lyrics to "Comes a Time" on Hunter's archive (includes the verse that Jerry sang only a couple of times):

I believe you are looking for 4/04/87 at the Centrum in Worcester. This is one of my favorite shows. BTW, Comes A time goes into Willie and the Handjive. I played this show on a road trip I had with my mother. When it was finished, she said, "What a great show." Mother knows best.

harold920: thanks a lot -- that's the show. Jerry's first tour east after the coma. Only Weir could pull off "Hand" Jive with that seamless transition after "Comes a time when the blind man takes your hand..." Thanks again, - AshesRising

Comes a Time - 5/9/77 (by a landslide)
Wharf Rat - Closing of Winterland one is really good, or 7/8/78 (I really like 78 WR's)

The Wharf Rat from May 25, 1977 is also really good, especially combined with the 15 minute Other One that comes before it (with Jerry pretty much playing solo as it leads into Wharf Rat).
